Thankfully, the process of obtaining the perfect wax temperature and texture can be narrowed down into a simplified process. Below we’ve outlined a six-step process that ensures you get a consistency that gets optimal results, every time!
Know the target temperature for the type of wax you’re using
The most straightforward suggestion is going to be to familiarize yourself with the varying wax temperatures needed for the type of wax you’re planning on using. Both hard wax and soft wax have different temperature requirements and melting points for being used effectively.
Some hard waxes melt as low as 104°F, while others don’t melt until 194°F! On average, soft waxes melt at lower temperatures compared to hard wax, with some starting to melt around 99°F. Each brand has different formulations, resulting in different melting temperatures.
Put your wax warmer on high for the first few minutes
There’s no need to spend hours trying to properly melt your wax. Instead, consider turning your wax warmer to its highest setting to create a thorough and even melt for your wax. Think of it like preparing your bath. It’s easier to begin with very hot water and then adjust if needed over simply sitting in front of your hub and changing the water temperature every few seconds to achieve the ideal temperature.
